3)would a weave look weird on someone whos not african american? ive never seen it done before (except on brittany spears…oh god…)

seriously, ANY info you have will be helpful! im considering getting this done but im just really nervous it will ruin my hair or not look natural. i know that tyra banks and beyonce wear lace front wigs, but even theirs i feel like you can see that line accross theiir forehead and i dont want that.

1) Some salons do it, i would check around for their prices as it can be pricey. If it is very expensive in a salon, you can save a couple hundred by purchasing the hair separately and getting someone to do it. Theres lots of ads on craigslist and kijiji of girls who will do it cheap, and they do it good.
2) Yes and no. I found it to be damaging when taking it out due to tangling and pulling and stuff.
3)No lots of white girls get weaves and it looks good
4)It will depend on the length and quality of the hair. If you want top hair (Remy human hair) for 18″ will cost you about $200. Look around on ebay, your looking for wefted hair, preferably Remy, let me know if you need more help with this….
5)They look natural in the sense that if done properly you wont be able to see the tracks (braids). How natural the hair looks will depend on the kind of hair you get. You dont want synthetic trust me.
6)If you get real hair, its just like your own hair, chances are it wont be too affected unless your getting rained on hard.
7)If you get human hair it is treated as your own-you can definitely blow-dry,flat-iron, curl, whatever
They last about a month
9)ponytails are fine
10)You dont have to cut your hair at all….legnth only matters if its super super short, your hair is fine.
I personnally dont like weaves, its uncomfortable, you cant wash your hair everyday (2-3 times a week is best) and they are uncomfy while sleeping. Also after a couple weeks it starts to loosen up which is even more uncomfortble. If you take good care of the hair it may be reusable, but it can get expensive.
Please pick a good quality hair.
I have had weaves, fusion extensions, mircolinks, and clip ins. I did clip ins last (like a moron lol) and i think they are the best. They look natural, are the cheapest (a good set on ebay will cost $80 or less, the best set I bought was $56, i can tell you the seller if you want). Clip ins look so natural, i love them!!!! Plus they’re easy to care for and not as exoensive, You should try them first, honestly its worth it.

How to Choose the Right Wig for You
Choosing a wig is an important decision. A human hair wig is an investment that you will be able to keep for a long time, as long as you take good care of it. This article will help you decide what kind of wig to buy, and how to take care of it.
1. Face shape: different facial shapes look better with different hair styles. If you have an oval face then you have the most options. If your head is longer, choose a wig that balances the forehead with the chin. Long hair styles and center parted wigs don’t look very good on this type. If you have a more square face, choose a human hair wig that minimizes the broad lines and angles of your face, with roundness at the temples and the jaw line. Good styles are curly, shags, and mid-length.
2. Now that you know what you’re working with, it’s time to decide on a style. The basic wig has a tapered back with the front styled back, or worn around the face. Mid-length goes to about the shoulder, and long wigs pass the shoulder. Short styles include the gamin, the shortest, the shag, which has a longer back, and the curly European hair wigs that come in tight or loose styles.
3. Size: Wigs come in four sizes, measured in inches. Measuring your head will give you an idea of your size. There are three ways of measuring: around the head, front to back and ear to ear. The first takes a tape measure and uses the natural hairline as the top. Measure just over the ears and below the crest of your skull in back. Front to back is as it sounds: follow from your hairline to the top of your neck. Lastly, measure from one ear over the crown of your head to the other.
4. Color: Usually you don’t want to stray from the color of your eyebrows. If you are looking for cancer wigs, then you can use any color you want! Most colors come on a number scale from 1 to 60, the lower the darker. If the number has a slash, it means that there is about a 50/50 distribution of two colors. If there is a -, this means that a lighter color is distributed through a darker color to produce a highlight effect.
5. Shorter styles are usually easier to care for. Longer styles may need conditioning and other maintenance.
6. Human hair wigs give you more freedom to style and play with your wig. Synthetic wigs are pre-styled.
7. Buying wig accessories like a wig brush and wig pick to treat your wig and keep it looking new. Overall, wearing a wig is supposed to make you feel confident and comfortable. Go with a style that you love, and remember that if you take care of your wig, it will last longer. Most of all, have fun with it, even if you are wearing it as a chemo patient. Being positive will help you appreciate your wig and make you look and feel better.
