How do I undo the effects of rebonding?

I have short hair, and I recently got a body wave. I didn’t like the look, so five days later, I asked to get a straight perm. The beautician suggested I get my hair rebonded, but I didn’t want to because I’ve seen how straight, flat, and lifeless it gets. She insisted that I have plenty of hair anyway, so my hair would still look thick and bouncy after the process. I believed her, had my hair done, and oh my god, my hair looked like a mop. All my co-workers were shocked. They said it looked like a wig. I was so upset, I had it cut super boy short. I even washed it the same day, regardless of the two day waiting period. NOTHING. It is so straight and lifeless. Even the movement of my hair looks so unnatural. I have to extreme blowdry my hair, and use a ton of product, and it only gives it very slight body. HELP ME! What should I do???

I had to research the term rebonding, but I’m assuming you are referring to what we call the Japanese Straightening System here in NC, where they use the chemical straightener in conjunction with the flat iron in that long process to straighten your hair, right?
If that is the case, there is nothing you can do but grow it out. I’m sorry. You’ve already double-processed your hair, so adding another process could quite possibly cause it to fall right out. Washing it the same day might have caused you some harm; is it super frizzy?
I’m not sure what you mean by “super boy short”, so I don’t really have any styling tips for you, other than use a good volumizing product and a round brush with your blow dryer. Maybe try a curling iron, or curl with your flat iron. If it’s still long enough, try some hot rollers.
